Two Hearts Beating in Twain
adam zens
Hell's shadow, now cursed,
By the dragon of earth
Blankets the forest of our reveries,
Our infinities blown hard by the
Wind have struggled, kicked
Unsheathing the sword of our
Infirmities as though they
Were
Golden
Pleasantries
Exchanged

While clutching our breasts and reciting

Our 'How do you do, ma'am's

While 'Life, ain't it grand' goes
Searing
Through
Our
Black
Loins
Lifted
And
Regenerated
By summer's long-forgotten breeze.

Awaiting the heavenly dove

Is broken by the devil in twain.

Joined to the vows made on the
Twilit shores by hurried lovers whose
Fetching camaraderie was made
To seem pointless to Mother Superior.
Pallid
Sky
And
Legitimate
Obsessions
Color our perception

Of magnificence, embodying a
The eye of the storm thus passed
Its soft song burning the sky
Thunder's ear can't hear passers-by
As it wends this way and that.
Journeying through thick and thin
Pacing backwards quoth the
Sublime stereotypes which gave
Birth to our surreal spirituality
In Death's incubator.

More

And the confusion of choosing
A child based on her or his genetic

Make-up.

The long-awaited plague had come

To shear away phantasms of yore

Mighty men, children, women galore

Sat to foresee the future undone.
Sifting through the burning shards
Of the new alternative mind
Station, relocating Babel into our
Babbling brooks and breathtaking
Scenery plastered upon Tomorrow's
Psyche-delic cravings.
